Wind Power Solutions at Home

Modern wind energy plant in rural scenery.

With the world’s ever-increasing demand of power being more than its supply, it is about time that we take concrete steps to save power. Apart from being conscious about the usage of power and water at home, one can employ pollution-free and cost-effective power solutions at our homes. Solar power solutions and wind power solutions are the two of the most efficient solutions that can replace the conventional power solutions employed at our homes.

These solutions can help you combat power outages, reduce your electricity bills, and also help the environment.

How does a windmill power generator keeps a constant voltage, eg: 110 volts, when the wind is not constant?

variable pitch blades varied by governor

Windmill/Electric generator, which to get?

There are many I found online, so which is the best for the cost and performance?…keep in mind, I am NOT made of money! Thanks!

………….I lived on my sailboat for 15 years in the Caribbean…. I always relied on my trusty windbugger to keep my batteries up when I was at anchor which was most of the time I found more and more sailors switching to the air X generator….. so If I was to buy one again for land I would go with the air X…….land model or a windbugger who also makes land models…..

EDIT
I checked on windbugger they are out of buisness….

What universities offer online courses in renewable energy or green related fileds?

I am interested in the renewable energy, green field, etc. And i want to know if there are some universities offering these kind of online courses.

All courses and degrees dealing with "renewable energy" or "green field" without prerequisite degrees in Science or Engineering are bullbleep.

Students need a background in Science or Engineering (preferably Engineering) before they can understand energy issues. Otherwise, graduates of these phony courses just become loud and ignorant shrieking nuisances.

What are those tall windmills that I see on some farms used for?

I took a recent roadtrip and came past a small rural town in Indiana and there were rows of tall white 3 blade windmills.
What are those tall windmills used for? Are they providing energy for the resident’s homes? Are they pumping water to the vegetables, fruits, and plants? What are these windmills that are popping up on farms used for?

the windmills with lots of blades pump water.
the 3 bladed windmills produce electricity.
some of them produce 1,000 kw.

http://www.awea.org/faq/wwt_basics.html

in some areas of the country, where there is not a power plant close, the utility probably pays a premium to farmers to produce excess electricity to feed the grid in their area.
that’s much cheaper than incurring the transmission losses from far away, or building a fossil fuel plant close.

How renewable energy solar power works?

My father is asking me to post a question about this.He is planning to buy an alternative renewable energy resources. Is it true that you will save electricity from alternative home energy solutions? Any suggestions and help on this post is highly appreciated thanks.

You can use renewable energy sources since it can be replenished in a short period of time. A the same time you can help the environment. And the best is it will never run out of sources of renewable energy as long as humans will exist. I found this website it says http://fastfreehomeenergy.com/alternative-energy-home.html "Many people (including myself) have reportedly slashed their monthly electricity bill by up to 80% through the methods mentioned above. If we can do it, so can you.". Just check this out for more details.
I hope i was bale to contribute a bit on your question.

What percentage of solar panels & windmills built in the US are built using illegals?

Months ago when Obama toured a solar panel manufacturing plant all of the workers were told to stay home that day. The vast majority were hispanics.

Didn’t Obama want a bunch of illegals in his green energy photo op?

Almost none. Those kind of manufacturing jobs are high paying, skilled labor jobs, the kind that Americans in unions have. There’s no need for unskilled undocumented workers.

Can you cite a source, and a factual one at that? Every photo I can find of Obama’s solar plant photo ops show him with workers. If "all" the workers stayed home, who is that he’s with?

Is it harder for a human to learn to do a fancy dunk or hit a home run?

So in basketball you have a dunk and in baseball you have a home run. So would it be easier for a person to lets say learn to do a windmill dunk or instead learn to hit a 90 mph home run?

I know they are two different sports but I would like to know how the level of difficulty differs.

personally, i think to hit a 90MPH fast ball Homerun.

reason.
to do dunk, you need a good vertical jump and practics.
but for to it a homerun, you need good strength that is able
to hit the ball out of the park, and you need a good coordination
to hit the sweet spot, otherwise the ball will pop off in a ackward
angle.

How many liberals have windmills on their homes?

Why are liberals so opposed to alternative energy, I live in California (the land of Liberals) and have yet to see one house with a windmill on top

Why are liberals such hypocrites ?

The Kennedy’s won’t let them mess up their Public paid view at the old homestead
using those high tech mills , wake up fools

what are your thought on renewable energy?

I would like to know if decreasing the price of renewable energy would increase people to bye it?
and if your know a site that shows some statistics on the prices of renewable energy in new york state.

This is already being done. In most states, there are programs that let you either pay more to get your power from "Green" sources, or take part in massive federal and state subsidy programs to install systems like Solar Power, High Efficiency Appliances, etc. In my state, you can now purchase a complete solar system for almost half the original price installed.

Check out you local electric utility web site for special subsidies. I bet you will be surprised what has been on offer for many years now.

The problem with Solar and Wind is it is still very expensive, even with the subsidies. In my state of Arizona where it is almost ideal conditions for solar power, it still takes about 18-20 years to break even financially, even with the government paying for almost half the initial cost. Be careful. Don’t believe salesmen and so-called "Environmentalists" when looking into these systems. Get the facts. Do your homework. Calculate the real rate of return/payback time.
