Why do people build home in an area known to be weather that will rip their homes apart? It seems like a great place for underground homes and windmill farms though – energy crisis complete.

Historically, people have lived just about anywhere there was arable land or another way of making a living.  If nobody else was there, you had no competition.

As long as there’s a living to be made, somebody is bound to try.

just moved to hill with good wind ..looking for one of those windmills(that produces power ) you put up in your backyard and hook it in to power company grid …anyone know of any good sites to find one?

I would like to either buy one or a ready to essemble kit . How big of a windmill would I need to provide enough electricity for a 7 room house with full basement. I want to use it to provide all the power including heat in the winter.

You’ll also have to plan on a way of storing energy for use when the wind isn’t blowing.

Geothermal energy is often the great hope of renewable energy as it can be continuously and reliably produced 24/7. While it it has the best potential, it is very limited geographically. The best geothermal resources are in Alaska and California, and the best potential resources are west of the Rockies. How do we overcome the geographic limitations of geothermal energy?

The simple answer to your question is: ‘dig deeper in the ground.’ There are several companies out there at present that are willing to install geothermal energy suppies into the home. I live in England and I have had pumps installed in my gym. I save hundreds of pounds each year in electricity bills. I’m 22 and I need to do something with my life. The salaries of the two careers are around the same, but I want a job that will last. Renewable energy is suppose to be big in the future, but I’m sure how many jobs will be available. Any suggestions?

Go with electrician first. The chances are great that those skills will carry over into other things like electronics. You can still take classes for renewable energy technician at night after work. There is no need to end your education simply because you have gained a career.

Electrician is a proven and lasting career field. Go with it.
Renewable Energy still has a long way to go before it can offer you a promising future you can depend on.

How many household (light,fan,TV etc) can a 2kw windmill power?

First you must sure the Voltage is stable, it’s mean not depend on wind, or you must have stabilizer, or the windmill unit has own stabilizer system.(the voltage not going up and down).
Then calculate how many household for 2 kw = 2000 watt power supply, i.e:
1.Refrigerator 500 watt.
2.Washing machine 500 watt.
3.Air Condition 1 Hp ~ 750 watt.
4.The rest 250 watt for lighting (it can be 50 watt x 5 = 250 watt)
This only example, depend on what you have.
But, if you can’t guaranty the stability & continuity, I sugest :
1. Don’t use household with motor (i.e Refrigerator, Air Condition, Washing Machine, Water Pump etc). Heater, Toaster, Fan is OK.
2.For lighting, use Incandesce lamp, not Neon Lamp (TL = Tube Lamp), Mercury Lamp.
For 60 W Incandesce Lamp 30 pcs is OK.

Im thinking of going to school to get an associates of applied sciences degree in renewable energy. I was just wondering what kind of money someone with that would make.

If you own a degree – or any extra qualification – then you’ll already be ahead of the crowd when it comes to hunting for vocations. My mate has a degree and he wasn’t certain what direction to go with it, but he unearthed some good instruction on the site in the resource box below which guided him to decide that he wanted to be a lab assistant.
